Nine of our students had earned awards at the Tri-County Science & Technology Fair this year. That’s a larger number of students winning than any other district in the fair, which included those from Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam counties. This was the first time our middle and elementary school students entered the competition. New Rochelle High School Science Research Program students have competed in the past. The New Rochelle City School District was the only District to win in all three levels! The annual competition was conducted virtually this year because of COVID-19 distancing.
Here are the winners:
Elementary School Lia Seelenfreund (Daniel Webster Magnet School) – Physics Award
Middle School Elena Adams (Albert Leonard Middle School – ALMS) – 1st Place Health/Medicine Juliette Thomas (ALMS) – 2nd Place Psychology Imaad Uzun (ALMS) – 3rd Place Math/Computers Julian Belfast (ALMS) – 3rd Place Physics

Program leader Jeff Wuebber called the wealth of awards “an outstanding achievement for these kids, and our district.” He’s absolutely right, and we also want to congratulate Mr. Wuebber himself for guiding the science students through one notable achievement after another.
